A beautiful day for our 5th match of the tour at Progress Park.

Sevenoaks won the toss and batted first on a dry and hard wicket, but this allowed The McDonald College to find some early success with some good pace bowling. Having been reduced to 8-2, Patrick Nickols continued to anchor the innings at one end, whilst the top order batted around him with Toby Blackmore and Nick Bett making 19 and 27 respectively. Yet wickets began to tumble again and Sevenoaks found themselves 107-5 from 20 overs. Nickols continued to plough on to make 66 whilst handy contributions from Sackville-West and Wright gave Sevenoaks a total of 186 from 35 overs.

Sevenoaks started strongly with the ball, as Bett and Wright took a wicket each to reduce McDonald College to 22-2. However, a 62 run partnership between Jeremiah and Dumbar left the opposition well poised at 84-2 from 14 overs. As the game seemed to be getting away from Sevenoaks, Michael Freeman got both batsmen out in the same over to give Sevenoaks the upper hand. Alfie Marr-Johnson came into the attack and found quick succes to reduce McDonald College to 116-8 as spin continued to run through the opposition's lower order. A last stand partnership threatened to spoil the party, but it was eventually broken, leaving McDonald College 151 all out in 24 overs.
